A 21-year-old Prince Albert woman pleaded guilty to criminal charges in connection with a violent assault in Little Red River Park.

Shania Cook pleaded guilty to charges of assault causing bodily harm and possession of property obtained by crime this morning in a Prince Albert courtroom. The charges date back to Sept. 14, 2015, when Cook was part of a group who lured a 21-year-old man to the park where he was attacked and robbed. Cook was in possession of the victim’s wallet, keys and cell phone after the incident, the court heard, leading to the additional property charge.

Cook spoke only twice at the hearing, to confirm she understood the charges and to enter her guilty pleas.

One of the other individuals charged connection with in the attack, 21-year-old Destiny Rabbitskin, pleaded guilty to several charges including assault and robbery in the fall. Rabbitskin, who helped lure the victim to the park through Facebook and later kicked him while he was being attacked by the group, was handed a year in jail for her role in the brutal attack and for acting as the “getaway driver” during two liquor store robberies.
